Unfortunately, because of our fallen nature, we often choose sinful ways to try to fulfill our sexual desires. Because God has wisely and graciously created us to be sexual beings, husbands and wives have an opportunity for a wonderful, exciting, joyful, intimate, and pure relationship.
It’s a very, very good thing when properly exercised in the context of marriage. Impure sexual thoughts was the second sin. What happened between 2:25 and 3:7 that completely changed their perception of themselves? You’ll notice that the very first thing that happened after they ate the fruit was that they became ashamed of their nakedness and made coverings for themselves. Gen 3:7 Then the eyes of both of them were opened, and they knew that they were naked and they sewed fig leaves together and made themselves loin coverings. Gen 2:25 And the man and his wife were both naked and were not ashamed. They had only pure thoughts! Probably everyone here knew that eating the fruit was the first sin, but without looking at your Bible, can anyone tell me what was the second sin? Just a few short verses later, Adam and Eve sinned against the Lord by eating the fruit. 23 The man said,Ģ4 For this reason a man shall leave his father and his mother, and be joined to his wife and they shall become one flesh. Gen 2:22 The LORD God fashioned into a woman the rib which He had taken from the man, and brought her to the man. Certainly sin is not good, but God stated that something was not good before the fall. 2 nd Day – The atmosphere (sky) (He did not comment that this was good.) v6-8ģ rd Day – Vegetation, plants, and fruit bearing trees v11-13ĥ th Day – Sea creatures and birds v20-23Ħ th Day – Cattle, creeping things, beasts v24-25Įverything was good except for one thing! Perhaps you are thinking that God was speaking of sin entering into the world.
